What about Washouts? Lessons from past Storms and Floods for Guilford’s Future

  • Broad Brook Community Center 3940 Guilford Center Road Guilford, VT 05301 USA (map)

Here in Guilford most of our major roads are next to streams and rivers. Whether or not you live next to a waterway, road washouts are a regular occurrence and affect us all. Join members of Guilford’s Planning and Conservation Commissions and guests as we share stories about coping with Tropical Storm Irene, road washouts, bank erosion, and more.

Watch the ‘Stream Table’ from the Windham Regional Conservation District dynamically simulate powerful water events.Take part in a town-wide discussion about ways to cope with high water events, and actions the Town and landowners can take to reduce future washouts.
