WWAC - CLIMATE DIPLOMACY: Are We Making Any Progress?
Former U.S. diplomat Elliot Diringer takes stock of the global effort to combat the climate crisis. Diringer, a former senior policy advisor to Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, has worked international climate issues for more than 30 years as a journalist, a diplomat, and a nonprofit leader. He covered the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, supported Vice President Al Gore at the historic Kyoto conference, and led behind-the-scenes talks that helped lay the foundation for the Paris Agreement. Diringer now leads an International Dialogue on Climate and Trade as a Global Fellow at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy. He and his wife, artist Lauren Rader, are new Guilford residents.
